And by the dawn when it breathes, 2018
There is a phenomenon known as the ‘false dawn’ which occurs prior to the dawn prayer in Islam, Fajr. The ‘false dawn’, or the ‘first dawn’, is a transient light that appears on the Eastern horizon before it is followed by darkness. Fajr, however, begins from the onset of the ‘second dawn’, or ‘true dawn’, which is not followed by darkness, rather the light of the Sun increases. These photographs depict false dawns from the Sierra de María-Los Vélez Natural Park in Andalusia.
